Henry Miller - Tropic of Cancer
New York: Grove Press, 1961. Third printing. Hardcover. 8vo. Green boards with gold lettering. 348pp. Green top-stain. Fair condition. The binding is slightly rolled with minor separation of the text-block from the spine. Faint remnants of (previously erased) pencil markings to the upper edge of the front endpaper. Toning, creasing, scratching, and areas of discoloration to the inner boards, endpapers, text-block edge, and the pages of the text. The dust jacket is not price clipped (shows an original price of $7.50) and is in poor condition. Rubbing, foxing, smudging, scratching, creasing, and chipping to all faces of the dust jacket. The spine is sun-faded. Large open tear to the upper edge of the spine (see photos). Some minor staining to the lower edge of the rear dust jacket cover. Damage to the upper edge of the rear dust jacket flap (see photos).
An unprepossessing copy of the classic. Tropic of Capricorn is the second book in Henry Miller's 'Rosy Crucifixtion' trilogy.
