Julian Messner, 1959. Hardcover. 8vo. 256 pp. First edition, first printing. Good condition. Red cloth boards are clean, a bit rubbed along bottom edges. Former owner's name in ink on top edge of flyleaf. Light wear to textblock fore-edge. Faint toning to very outer periphery of textblock (confined to margins). Dust jacket is a bit worn along edges and its color dulled to a somewhat fuliginous tinge. Return to Peyton Place is the sequel to Metallious's Peyton Place, an overnight sensation and worldwide bestseller. It was MGM--desirous for a cinematic sequel to their own adaptation of the earlier work--that prodded Metallious to write this novel.
