Charles Scribner, 1930 (first published 1883). 4to. 347 pp. Blue cloth binding with pictorial plate inlaid. Attached red ribbon bookmark. Illustrated by Peter Hurd with 9 color plates. Very good condition. Very clean; no markings. Boards lightly worn at spine tips, bumped at top edge near upper front forecorner. Dust jacket has several small chips along periphery, small open tear along head of spine, and some rubbing along joints (see photos) but still is in very good condition. The Story of Roland relates the legendary adventures of the 11th-century French Knight so-named; its author is not related to the black American author James Baldwin whose works include, e.g., 'Go Tell it On the Mountain' and 'The Fire Next Time.'
