New York: Del Rey, 1976. Book club edition. Hardcover. 8vo. Blue vinyl binding. 183 pp. Code S31 on gutter of last page (corresponding to second printing of the trade edition). Very good condition. Immaculate boards and pages. No markings. First signature of textblock cut very slightly wider than the others--owing to a miscalibration error at the printer I assume; this, however, does not effect the binding, which remains strong. A touch of rubbing is evident at the tail of spine and forecorners of dust jacket (see photos) but it is still just about pristine. This book establishes the essential plot and familiar characters of the popular movie franchise of the same name, the first installment of which was released a year after the publication of the book. Although George Lucas formulated the general idea for Star Wars and is officially credited with authorship, Alan Dean Foster was responsible for writing this book.
