New York: Grove Press, 1959. First trade edition, first printing (preceded by the paperback edition brought out by Olympia Press in Paris the same year). A court injunction on grounds of obscenity prevented this edition from being available for retail purchase until 1962. 8vo. 1/2 black cloth binding. 255 pp. Black topstain. Later state dust jacket with amended address for Grove Press. Very good condition. Former owner's name in ink on front pastedown page. No other markings. Very light wear to textblock fore-edge. Jacket is scuffed at forecorners and spine tips, has a tiny chip along upper front edge but still in very good condition.
