New York: Simon & Schuster/Touchstone, 1984. Second printing of the new edition (following the "revised" edition of 1979). Hardcover. 4to. 647 pp. 1/4 black cloth binding. Introduction by Jane Pincus and Joan Ditzion. Good condition. Comparatively clean ex-library copy which fact is divulged with modesty, having merely a stamp along upper textblock edge and another at the bottom of the title page. Former owner's name on front pastedown, toning pattern to outer periphery of textblock (relegated to the margin--see photos), and variegated blotting marks along textblock fore-edge are also in evidence. Interior otherwise clean. Dust jacket remains in very good condition with some rimpling and a small closed tear to the front flap; its outer aspect, however, appears to be just about pristine. Books and bodies alike seldom attain perfection so I'm sure you'll agree that whatever present excrescence which in other markets would confer a depreciating effect give to a book such as this a rugged solemnity instead.
