Covers and textblock edges are scuffed and generally well-worn. Patchy foxing on endpapers. This book evinces a very unusual binding error: the eighth signature, succeeding page 124 and preceeding page 152, was sewn in upside down and hence is furthermore backward in terms of numeric sequence (though this lapse is only a bit beneath Grosset & Dunlap's ordinary standards of craftsmanship I will admit); a pencil annotation registering said anomaly (on page 124) is the only marking to the text proper, which is otherwise clean. No dust jacket present.
