Philadelphia: Lippincott, 1960. Book club edition. Hardcover. 8vo. 296 pp. 1/2 green cloth binding. Very good condition. Immaculate interior. No markings. Price-clipped dust jacket has a touch of rubbing at spine ends but remains spectacular. (This copy does not have the hideous 'Pulitzer Prize Winner' sticker Lippincott slapped on copies starting in 1961, nor any of the jacket design alterations that occassioned Harper's acquisition of Lippincott.)
Note: The Book-of-the-Month-Club edition of To Kill a Mockingbird, issued several months after the first edition publication almost exactly resembles a later printing of the trade edition. The usual distinctive mark of BOMC books--the blindstamp or dot on the rear cover--only appears on some of them (as it does here). The copyright page generally indicates a twenty-third impression, while the dust jacket flap invariably notes an incongruous earlier printing; the BOMC dust jacket flap also retains the $3.95 price (here clipped).Be aware that most copies identified online as first editions of this title are in fact book club editions.
