Vincent Bugliosi with Curt Gentry - Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders

New York: Norton: 1974. First edition, sixth printing. Hardcover. 8vo. 1/4 black cloth binding. 502 pp. Illustrated with ninety photographs, diagrams, and trial exhibits. Good condition. Former owner's name in ink on front free endpaper; no other markings. Dust jacket is chipped at spine ends, a couple spots along periphery but is still very impressive. (see photos)

Bugliosi was lead prosecutor in the murder trial of Manson and several members of his 'family.' This is the definitive chronicle of the crime and trial, whether or not you accept the race-war eschatology of his 'Helter Skelter' theory of the crimes. For a somewhat different perspective on these events, Ed Sander's book 'The Family' is also recommended.
