Alan Watts - The Book: The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are
New York: Pantheon, 1966. First edition, third printing. Hardcover. 8vo. 146 pp. Beige cloth binding. Red topstain. Good condition book in an unprepossessing dust jacket. Light rubbing to covers; small patch of surface excoriation on rear cover (about 2mm in length--see photos); pencil-tip sized blot marking to lower front pastedown which is reflected onto corresponding position of front endpaper. Very clean interior. Dust jacket has a constellation of--I counted twenty-eight--small, irregular perforations on the rear portion along with some insignificant edge-wear along periphery. Inscription on front endpaper by Alan Watts to a friend in red ink is punctuated not with his name in autograph but with his red ideographic signatory seal. Very zen.
