Five books* are concatenated in this single volume, individually paginated: Pp. 268, 205, 141, 305, 246 respectively. Fair condition. Covers rubbed; corners bumped; fraying at upper front joint; staining to upper rear forecorner of boards, small section of textblock edge; Christmas gift sticker on front free endpaper with attendant toning shadow on front pastedown paper--clean interior otherwise. No dust jacket, although it probably never had one and books this good don't get dusty anyways. Or maybe they do, I don't know.
*The first American edition, published in New York by Carleton in 1862, was a five-volume affair. The true first edition (by Lacroix, Verboeckhoven & Ce) was published in ten volumes.
