Illustrated profusely in black-and-white with sixteen pages of color plates. Very good condition. Minor wear to textblock forecorners, outer periphery of covers. No markings to pages. Scarce.
Note: many copies of the reprinted edition of this work (with a foreword by Toni Morrison) are being disingenuously advertised as first edition copies; they are not.
