Albert Camus - The Plague
New York: Knopf, 1948. First American edition, Fourteenth printing (1964). Hardcover. 8vo. Black cloth binding. 278 pp. Red topstain. Good condition. Former owner's name in ink on front free endpaper. Extensive critical notes pertaining to the axiology and epistemology of literary exegesis on half-title page verso, copyright page, and a couple following preliminary pages (see photos). These notes pick up again at colophon page (i.e. page 280) and rear flyleaf. Our prolix pedagogue (who could it be?) showed laudatory restraint in leaving the story itself unmolested, annotatively-speaking. Dust jacket has a little bit of wear along periphery but is in very good condition.
